Chicago Animal Care and Control protects public safety and ensures the humane care of animals through sheltering, pet placement, education and animal law enforcement.

All CACC operations are based out of our shelter located at:

2741 S. Western Ave

Chicago, IL  60608

The facility includes:

  • A 54,000 square foot building which houses over 500 animals in separate kennels with a fully equipped medical division to care for the animals
  • A command center for Animal Control Officers with a fleet of 18 trucks
  • Animal intake from 8 a.m. until 10 pm, 365 days a year, (After hours, please call 311)
  • The Animobile van for off-site adoptions and vaccine clinics
  • Offices for the Executive Director and management staff.
